APC MOVES INTO ENGLISH-LANGUAGE DRAMA
APC picks up global rights to Keeping Faith and enters co-production partnership with AME for North America, ANZ, UK & Eire
Boutique financier and distributor About Premium Content (APC) has picked up the global distribution rights to its first English-language drama series Keeping Faith. While APC’s main shareholder UK-based Nevision is gap-financing the show, APC is handling all international broadcast sales – including the UK where TV rights are still available. APC has already secured a co-production deal with Acorn Media Enterprises for all rights across the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, plus home entertainment in the UK & Eire.
Commissioned by S4C and BBC Wales, the 8 x 60’ thriller Keeping Faith is produced by Vox Pictures for broadcast in 2017/18. Starring Eve Myles (Victoria, Torchwood, Broadchurch) in the lead role, the series is currently in production with a dual-language shoot in English and Welsh. The Welsh language production, titled Un Bore Mercher, will be the first to broadcast on S4C in autumn 2017.
Vox Pictures’ Pip Broughton is directing and producing the returning series which has been written by Matthew Hall (Wing and a Prayer, New Street Law) and Anwen Huws (Gwaith Cartref, Pobol y Cwm), and co-producer is Nora Ostler.
Adrian Bate is Executive Producer for Vox Pictures while Gwawr Martha Lloyd and Maggie Russell will Executive Produce for S4C and BBC Wales respectively. James Cabourne will Executive Produce for Nevision. Shane Murphy is Executive Producer for AME.
Keeping Faith is fast-paced emotionally intricate and intimate thriller, which centres on a strong female character who discovers the man she loves is a stranger. Faith’s husband leaves for work one day but never arrives, and it becomes apparent that he has been leading a double life. Faith is an ordinary woman fighting to protect her family and her sanity as she is propelled into a lonely, frantic search in which she discovers as much about her unexplored self as her missing husband.
Emmanuelle Guilbart, Joint CEO and Co-Founder at APC says: “We first scouted Keeping Faith at Series Mania two years ago and knew immediately it was project we wanted to be involved in. We are genuinely delighted to be working with the talented team at Vox on this impactful series. Moving into English-language drama marks the next step in the growth of our portfolio and we are excited to have secured a home for the show in the US already, and look forward to taking it to audiences across the globe.”
Adrian Bate, Joint CEO of Vox Pictures says: “Eve Myles plays a warm-hearted mother at the heart of this distinctive series, which shakes up our normal perceptions of the thriller genre. APC understood the material from the get-go and have been both supportive and effective in their approach to finding the right partners for the project.”
Shane Murphy, MD of AME, says: “As we ramp up our co-production activities, we’re delighted to be bringing Keeping Faith to the English-speaking world and to have forged new partnerships with APC and VOX.”
